If we were hearing that Kelly Kosky is a fraud for the first time, we would wonder about the page on his site that claims extensive accountability. But they are just that, only claims. The names of the board members are not listed, nor is any contact information. Kelly owns it all and has absolute and sole access to all donations.
His website states concerning "accountability":
"WOM continually reviews the appropriations of funds to insure that the funds are disbursed appropriately within the structure of the ministry. If for any reason Kelly Kosky or the ministries fails to comply with the financial accountably of WOM, they will directly address any financial problems."
That appears to be rock-solid accountability. But it only appears to be. From World Outreach Ministries' own website they state the kind of specific financial accountability they provide:
"Our organization also provides two-way financial accountability. We maintain accurate records for the missionary and provide the Form 1099 for tax purposes." https://www.worldoutreach.org/index.php/missionary-agency
WOM provides financial accountability by
1. Maintaining accurate records of donations that come in and sending receipts out
2. Provide the Form 1099 for tax purposes
What is missing from that list? "WOM continually reviews the appropriations of funds to insure that the funds are disbursed appropriately within the structure of the ministry."
That is not a primary or ancillary service that WOM offers or provides, yet that is the best security that Kelly Kosky can provide you that your donations are being used appropriately.
World Outreach Ministries President, Jason Peebles, emailed us when we inquired of their services, "As a SERVICE AGENCY we do not attempt to exercise control over you. We think the best form of accountability is with the other associates, workers, churches, and leaders that you already know.", and again, "We feel that ministry decisions are best left in the hands of the missionary and the other workers they are already in relationship with. Your church and / or mission team should be your place of accountability.".
WOM does not in fact hold their missionaries accountable like Kelly claims, but leaves it "in the hands of the missionary and the other workers they are already in relationship with". If a person is dishonest with you about their financial accountability, how honest do you trust he has been with your finances?
